The rapid growth in Ransomware has become a massive threat to people in the past 2 years. However, don’t be fooled by this latest “threat”. There have been reports of a pop-up screen on iPhone’s accusing users of accessing illegal pornography or pirating music. The screen displays a message demanding the owner pays the attacker with a £100 iTunes Gift Card after which the owner will receive a code via text message to close the pop up window.
Do not be fooled by this threat! Your phone is not infected. To close the screen simply empty your browsers cache. Apple have released an update to close the loophole and protect iPhone owners from this “threat”.
